Alt-rap figurehead Gucci Mane seems to be enjoying the spoils of success: he’s now sporting a Ferrari 812 Superfast, and years ahead of the waiting list. Mane went to the front of the line for the exquisite grand tourer, bypassing the current delivery date for new orders—2021—and happily doling out $600K to take immediate delivery of the muscular supercar.
The Superfast is a car that makes Ferrari as proud as a new dad. Its design conjures both American muscle cars and Italian racers; it references the couture-like high-performance flash of competitive European models, as well as the gritty grindstone power of the street racers that ignited iconic U.S. films like ‘Bullitt’ and ‘French Connection.’
Most of all, though, the 812 Superfast is beautiful.
And fast. The model boasts what may be the last naturally aspirated regular production engine to emerge from the house of the prancing horse: a 6.5L V12, a rumbling ogre that produces nearly 790 HP. The top speed of 211 MPH will probably warrant the occasional road trip to Route 36, or similarly challenging strips of pavement that allow drivers to put this kind of steed through its paces.
Mane’s output has been prolific of late—amounting to three full-length records in 2017—warranting a little spring gift like a brand new Ferrari. His most recent release is last year’s ‘El Gato: The Human Glacier,’ although another is slated to emerge later this year.
