Mercedes-Benz’s 2018 Mercedes-AMG E63 S Wagon has been given an official base sticker price for U.S. sales: the sports-wagon will begin at $107K. Mercedes’ reveal of a definite cost for the W213-gen model makes for a good opportunity to have another look at the ultra-slick alternative to a luxury crossover.
As some may recall from three months ago, when the car’s unveiling as a 2018 production vehicle cast it into the public eye, the car is a remarkably quick and nimble wagon. Like the E63 S Sedan, the wagon’s AMG 4L bi-turbo V8 is capable of pumping out over six hundred horsepower, with 627 pound-feet of torque sent to the wheels via a 9-speed paddle-shift transmission. The wagon can dash to 60 in 3.4 seconds, only losing a tenth of a second to the sedan version. In both cases, the model’s top speed is limited to 180 MPH.
Mercedes claims the E63 S Wagon is the Nürburgring champ, which gives prospective buyers an idea of its dexterity, too. The car features performance-tech features like ESP cornering assist, as well as an AMG sport exhaust system, electronic limited-slip differential, and sport suspension. And the cabin is the familiar AMG cockpit, where cutting edge technology and a tasteful sense of automotive history swaddle the driver.
Package options bring a whole host of additional driver-assist features, enhanced creature comforts, and conveniences to the table.
