Luxury French watchmaker Bell & Ross has introduced a timeless new timepiece that manages to strike that tricky balance between rugged and fascinating.

Based on the design of its BR-X1, Bell & Ross have taken the already impressive watch to an all-new level with the introduction of its BR-X1 White Hawk. While the brand has often been associated with the dependability demanded by military and aviation applications, this watch feels a little more experimental.

The BR-X1 boasts a number of new materials and a unique new color scheme. In addition to its mesmerizing skeletonized tourbillon, the watch boasts an automatic ETA 2894-2 chronograph movement visible via the sapphire dial.

What really makes the watch unique, though, is its almost dashboard-instrument style look: a round face set into a square case. However, Bell & Ross didn’t completely forego its tradition. The grade 5 titanium case was inspired by private jet builds; it’s been micro-blasted for even greater durability, and features a special matte ceramic band.

The Bell & Ross BR-X1 White Hawk Skeleton Chronograph is available starting at around $21,000 and will be produced in a small run of just 250 pieces. However, customers can also opt for the even more exclusive BR-X1 White Hawk Chronograph Tourbillon Hand-wound Monopusher. Only 20 examples of that watch will be produced; it will be offered at $181,000.
