Fort Lauderdale saw the unveiling of the latest offerings of Baglietto shipbuilders and the design firm Hot Lab. The new designs continue the Baglietto’s V-Line series, bringing 38 and 41 metre models to the lineup.

As other Baglietto/Hot Lab collaborative efforts, the most recent motor yachts to emerge from the duo present an arresting vision of sophisticated modernity and traditional evocation. The hull design is beautifully realized, an entirely contemporary expression of confidence that manages a little covert softness. Baglietto’s history and company heritage in auto design is in there, the merging of feminine lines with the brute force of engine-driven purpose.

The 38 meter V-Line motor yacht is, in a way, the more exciting new addition to the family. It’s the smallest yacht in the V-Line series, and fills the void admirably. It features a raised pilothouse design, and a unique space-efficient layout that manages to pack a hell of a lot of yacht into a more diminutive package. It’s a couple’s yacht, and berthing favors the master suite, allowing it full expression as an extravagant statement.

The 41 meter V-Line is the older sibling, a three-deck craft with a top deck that emphasizes panoramic views. The lines are a little more aggressive here, but that softening influence engages in the subtext.

The two new V-Line yachts are the result of a great deal of development. Hot Lab’s dedication to their craft is matched only by Baglietto’s build quality. The V-Line series are some of the most exciting new yachts to put to sea, and these two new additions only strengthen the position of both companies in this niche market.
