Late media mogul Jerry Perenchio’s properties have been storming the Los Angeles-area real estate market for several months now. The latest listings from his estate are a series of large parcels in Malibu. There are eight properties in all; the largest extends to 24.9 acres of residentially-zoned land, a second measures 18.9 acres and is zoned commercial, and six other lots ranging in size from houselots to a 10 acre parcel. Collectively, the properties are valued at around $150 million.

Those who follow the comings and goings of more striking real estate offerings in the greater Los Angeles-area may recall the listing of Perenchio’s ‘Beverly Hillbillies’ mansion this past summer; the massive chateau, which had been used in a famous exterior location shot in the 1960’s sitcom, was listed on the open market with an asking price of $350 million. The estate—known as Chartwell—features a 25,000 square foot main house with a limestone exterior and baroque-tinged décor within. The guesthouse on the property measures an additional 6,000 square feet. Perenchio purchased the Bel-Air property in 1986, absorbing adjacent properties over the years to build the estate’s 10 acres of grounds.

A far more modest home in Malibu that belonged to Perenchio came to market later in the summer. That home has since sold.

Perenchio, a natural businessman and impresario, launched the careers of such entertainment notables as Elton John. He co-purchased Univision in 1992 for $550 million, selling it fifteen years later for $13.5 billion. At the time of his death, his net worth was $2.8 billion.
