Tech company Nest has introduced a new device in its arsenal of home automation products. This time, the brand is breaking into the home security market with the introduction of the Nest Secure alarm system. Nest has already revolutionized home thermostats, so the leap into the home security realm doesn’t come as much of a surprise.

Customers looking to make their home safer with Nest are encouraged to begin with the Nest Secure starter pack. The pack comes with the Nest Guard, which is all-in-one security base with a motion sensor, keypad, and alarm; the Nest Detect sensor for identifying open/close movement and motion; the Nest Tag fob for easy arming and disarming without entering a passcode; and the Nest Hello video doorbell, which offers users video footage of the front entry.

Further along, customers can purchase the Nest Cam IQ outdoor security camera for added peace of mind. The Nest Cam is offers high-quality imaging, and is both weatherproof and tamper-proof.

With the goal of creating a more “thoughtful home,” the new security suite from Nest is just another way for customers to become more connected with their residences. Shipping next month, the Nest Secure starter pack begins at $499.
