Joshua Jackson of ‘Dawson’s Creek’ Fame and Model/Actress Ex Diane Kruger Make $5.8M with Sale of Hollywood Contemporary

Formerly romantically involved actors Joshua Jackson and Diane Kruger sold their custom-built contemporary home this week. The couple picked up the property in 2014, for $2.9 million, and had the house built that year. After their breakup, they listed the home in May of this year for $6 million, and recently realized $5.8 million on the sale.

The house measures 4,931 square feet, and contains five bedrooms and 4.5 baths. It’s a straightforward contemporary design: boxy; lots of glass; a white exterior accented with timber. The interior uses concrete fairly extensively as a reference, allowing some natural stone and a great deal of woodgrain to warm things up a little.

Overall, though, it’s a fairly cool space. The angularity and the grid of recessed ceiling fixtures, not to mention the concrete walls and floors, call the shots, and leave little room for softness or surprise. The double-sided stone fireplace which grounds the common living area is the main draw for the eye in the wide-open first floor, but it hardly defines the interiors. Interior/exterior flow, via glass walls, is continual.

The property extends to about a quarter acre, and incorporates a guest house. Also modern, the guest house features interiors that are less abashed about beguiling with a little overt charm. Especially appealing is the double-height living area, which features a small second-floor gallery and a fireplace with a Southwestern-design tile surround.

Kruger appeared in the National Treasure films, and took home a Screen Actors Guild Award for her part in the Quentin Tarantino’s Inglorious Basterds.’ Jackson has appeared in The Mighty Ducks franchise, and starred in TV hits ‘Dawson’s Creek,’ ‘Fringe,’ and ‘The Affair.’
