Most car buyers realize that new cars aren’t technically new. In fact, we’ve come to expect new cars to have a few miles on the odometer and some signs of use. Now there is the opportunity for a buyer to get their hands on an as-new-as-it-gets 1997 McLaren F1.

The special McLaren is so new that it’s literally still in the packaging. Although it does have 148 miles on the odometer, it’s rumored to be the lowest of any F1 in the world, and the interior is nearly as new as you can find. It’s in showroom condition, in other words.

For a special McLaren from the late ’90s, it’s safe to say that it’s very unlikely a buyer will be able to find anything like this supercar on the current market. It looks like it just left the factory. In fact, the floor mats, dashboard, seats, and floors are all still in protective packaging.

The companion Tag Heuer watch, the build book, and the complete tool cabinet come with the vehicle. Of course, even if the interior weren’t swaddled in protective wrap, the McLaren F1 with special yellow accents would still cause palpitations.

The first McLaren F1 imported to the U.S. recently sold for more than $15 million, so this mint condition McLaren is sure to earn a pretty penny.
