This past summer, Montreal-based jet manufacturer Bombardier revealed the transition from concept to the last phases of production for its 7000 model aircraft, a massive, long-range jet that will be able to travel 7,300 nautical miles on a single fueling, and reach a speed of Mach 0.9.

Last week, the company brought along a Global 7000 to display at the National Business Aviation Association show in Las Vegas; it is emerging at just the right time for the rapidly expanding niche market.

It is also emerging at just the right time for the sake of the company, which has struggled somewhat with the scope of its ambition, and lengthy delays. In the past year or so, however, the company has had a rash of orders for the 7000, and is now poised to make good on its promises: the company has stated that the plane is sold out for the next three years, and that new orders will not be delivered until 2021. First deliveries will begin in the last quarter of 2018.

As far as accommodations, the Global 7000 is a flying penthouse, more or less. It contains four living spaces, a master suite with shower, a galley and formal dining room for six, crew bunks, and full entertainment suite. Cosmetic touches include parquet flooring, and oversized windows give fuselage travel a unique sense of expanse. The plane will be able to accept 19 passengers.

The Global 7000 is priced just shy of $73 million.
