Actress Rachel Bilson, best known for her work on “The O.C.,”  has just purchased a chic Pasadena home for $3.25 million.

The Los Angeles-area residence stretches to nearly 3,700 square feet, and is set just above the Rose Bowl. The mid-century modern home was designed by noted architect Gregory Ain, and is a rare surviving representation of the style both inside and out. It isn’t surprising that it sold for $250,000 over its asking price.

The six-bedroom, four-bath house boasts a number of features making it fit for a discerning owner. Some of the stand-out design elements include floor-to-ceiling windows, refinished parquet wood floors, a calligraphic fireplace, and teak-paneled walls.

In addition to the expansive combination living/dining room with hideaway wet bar, there’s also a galley-style kitchen with original cabinetry and modern appliances.

The retro home even received the designation of “local landmark” in 2014 due to its prestigious pedigree; Ain’s signature defines the residence, while the gardens bear the stamp of iconic landscape architect Garret Eckbo. The property also boasts flagstone terracing, mature trees, a swimming pool, and a deck offering unparalleled views of the city beyond.

While Bilson is currently most recognizable through her role on “The O.C.” The actress also starred in the series “Hart of Dixie,” and recently appeared on “Nashville.”
