Jon Bon Jovi—no stranger to the New York real estate market—recently took possession of a new property in the city. Never one to dabble, the savvy rocker jumped right into a nearly $19 million purchase in the Greenwich Lane complex, centrally located in the West Village of lower Manhattan.

Two streets away, Bon Jovi’s condo on Charles is still up for grabs. But the musician has never proven to be seller in a rush; he waited two years before an acceptable offer came along on his penthouse in the Soho district.

As far as his new investment is concerned, the build is recent, the unit is spacious, and the building’s amenities are well considered to not leave residents wanting. At a shadow over 3,950 square feet, the unit’s accommodations extend to four bedrooms and 4.5 baths.

Direct elevator access to the apartment—located on the top floor of the more prominent building in the complex, and boasting very pleasing views of the Village—opens to a tasteful rendering of contemporary upscale Greenwich Village living that emphasizes green-consciousness. Custom millwork, aged plank oak floors, and abundant glass characterize the space; it’s a little moody, relying heavily on dark-finished wood, metallic surface, slab marble, and textured grey wall covering to definitively express it, but it has that cool 21st-century detachment very much in vogue at present.

The building’s amenities include a floor dedicated to fitness and wellness, which incorporates a yoga studio, golf simulator, 25-meter pool and spa, and treatment rooms. Most appealingly, the complex is designed around a spectacular courtyard garden, giving it a strong sense of at least potential community.

Mr. Bon Jovi’s acute interest in the commonweal resulted in his ‘Soul Foundation’, which seeks bona fide solutions to the myriad obstacles that stand between low-income Americans and health care, continued education, and vocational opportunities. In 2010, he was appointed by President Obama to the White House Council for Community Solutions.
