Former ‘Entertainment Tonight’ Host Mary Hart and Producer Husband Burt Sugarman Want $7.9M for L.A. Condo

Television producer Burt Sugarman and former Entertainment Tonight host Mary Hart have relisted their condo in the Ritz-Carlton. This spring, the couple had the property up for sale with an asking price of $8.8 million, and recently offered the property on the open market again, this time at $7.9 million. They purchased the unit in 2014, for $3.8 million.

Hart and Sugarman invested a considerable amount of time and money in renovating the apartment. The unit boasts an open-concept, loft-like common living area, electronic window shades, and high-tech lighting. The 4,170 square feet of living space includes three bedrooms, 3.5 baths, as well as an office, a media room, a family room, and a kitchen with granite countertops, custom cabinetry, pantry, and high-end appliances.

The apartment’s bedrooms are all en-suite, and include a master with a pair of walk-in wardrobes and a custom LED lighting system. The master bath features a self-cleaning spa, natural stone accents, and a separate sinks.

The apartment’s floors are mainly plank hardwood, most likely walnut, and the grain and dark finish lend a pleasing earthiness and texture to the spaces, balancing out the strident modern lines of the steel-framed windows.

Warmer tones are used sparingly to give the spaces a little variation and visual interest. The effect comes off quite well, and never feels overplayed. Views of the city are spectacular, as expected from a 48th-floor unit.

Hart, a former journalist, was co-host of ET for seven years; she had been a correspondent for the program for many years before that. Sugarman produced the NBC series ‘The Midnight Special,’ as well as the sadly short-lived NBC gamble ‘The Richard Pryor Show.’
