Lamborghini’s newest race car, the Huracán Super Trofeo EVO, picks up where the Super Trofeo left off. The new model incorporates a series of changes that boost safety standards, fine-tune the car’s aerodynamics and reduce curb weight.

The Super Trofeo EVO sports a new body kit, fabricated exclusively from carbon fiber. The kit is the result of collaboration between Lamborghini and Dallara Automotive, and takes note of ideas and suggestions from Super Trofeo drivers. Dallara Automotive provides cutting-edge chassis design and production for street-legal rides like the Bugatti Chiron, as well as series racecars, including IndyCar, World Series by Renault, Formula E, and Super Formula.

The aero kit addresses the downforce/drag issues of the existing Super Trofeo, boosting stability and reducing resistance while improving stability. It employs a new center fin to improve airflow over the back end of the car, as well as a new roof intake. Drag is decreased by 8% with the new design, and significantly improved lap times are the result.

Safety issues have also been addressed. Notably, the Super Trofeo EVO sports a new roof hatch which simplifies driver extraction.

The drivetrain of the model remains the same: a naturally-aspirated V10 producing 620 horsepower. Torque has been improved by 3%.

The Huracán Super Trofeo EVO package may be purchased to upgrade existing Super Trofeo cars already in competition. The model will be introduced on race tracks next spring, and is priced at $295K.
