Taka Yachts has captured jazz-age yachting elegance with the introduction of its new superyacht, Laniakea.
The 118-foot craft was recently delivered to her owner, but before she set off to cruise Turkish waters, we were able to get a look at the beautiful new vessel. Built by Su Marine, the yacht boasts a modern-classic aesthetic thanks to designs by Taka Yachts’ Osman Tanju Kalaycıoğlu.
In many ways, Laniakea is an update on Taka’s 2014 creation, the 94-foot Darwin. While both vessels take inspiration from classic yachts, this new build is even more impressive, and larger: it contains seven cabins, and can accommodate up to 12 guests.
The three-deck superyacht boasts stunning wooden surfaces paired with plush lounging spaces, most notably the elegant main saloon. Taka’s inspired use of exposed wooden structural elements really show off the craftsmanship in the vessel’s DNA.
Laniakea also offers plenty of diverting opportunities: a storage tender, a convertible outdoor entertainment area, the foredeck lounge, and the large swim platform are a few of its modes of relaxation.
Thanks to 600-hp Caterpillar engines, the powerful yacht is able to reach a top speed of 13.5 knots.
