Vespa Digs Into Its Past for Inspiration with the Sei Giorni Scooter

Italian scooter company Vespa has just introduced a limited-edition scooter in honor of its history. Which is only fitting. After all, the Vespa is an iconic ride on the continent; European city life wouldn’t be the same without that dash of Italian chic. Gregory Peck and Audrey Hepburn even fell in love on one in ‘Roman Holiday’ (Hepburn was driving).

The limited-run Vespa Sei Giorni was specially crafted to pay homage to the original “Six Days” Vespa sport, which is the scooter that won the “International Six Days of Varese” in 1951.

Although the Sei Giorni is based on the modern Vespa GTS platform, the scooter boasts a classic look complete with a low-mounted optical assembly, a leather-covered seat, a vintage-inspired instrument panel, and the livery of the Vespa Racing Team from the ’50s.

And, despite the Sei Giorni’s vintage look, Vespa packed the scooter with modern features: a USB port, LED lights, a 300cc Euro4 engine, and an ABS antilock braking system. The liquid cooled four-stroke engine helps the Vespa produce 21 hp and 16 ft-lbs of torque.
