New Swiss watchmaker Montandon is a brand “inspired by super yachts”; that’s not only an indication of the demographic Montandon caters to, it’s also a window into the company’s philosophical sensibilities.

For the brand’s first model, Montandon has released the Windward TMA01 V1, complete with an in-house tourbillon movement and a daring design that screams high-end horology, and targets the individual who prefers a touch of unpredictable ocean-going adventure either literally, in metaphoric terms, or both alternately.

The company was founded by Daniel M. Montandon, who began his career working in naval engineering before spending 25 years working in the distribution sector of Swiss watchmaking.

Montandon is based in Geneva, and all of their cases and movements are designed and made in house. To create the Windward TMA01 V1, Montandon said, “I began by imagining the day-to-day lives of our clients,” and that a watch is a “worthy tool.”

The Windward TMA01 V1 comes with either a bronze or 18k white gold case that measures 44mm wide and 11mm thick, with each boasting a titanium bezel. Each case option will come in three dial choices, either blue, snow (white), and slate (gray).

The timepiece boasts an impressive TMA01 V1 movement that consists of over 250 components, beats at 3Hz, and comes with a 72-hour power reserve.

Pricing for the bronze model starts at $133,000, while the 18k white gold case edition comes with a $151,700 price tag.
