Rapper, producer, and actor Eminem has listed his sprawling estate in Oakland Township, Michigan with an asking price which is considerably lower than his purchase price for the property. The rap star picked up the estate in 2003, for $4.8 million. The property is currently priced at $1.999 million.

The trophy estate spans 5.7 acres of sylvan land, and includes a guest house and an entertainment cabana. The main residence sprawls to 17,500 square feet of living space, but the whole complex contains six bedrooms and 9.5 baths.

A somewhat peculiar mix of country-cottage styling and stiff suburban mansion marks the interiors. There are beautiful design elements, and materials are top-notch; the hardwood floors that extend throughout the guest house—which is a detached, two-floor, fully self-sufficient residence—are very attractive. The entertainment cabana contains a kitchen.

The home’s exterior contains stacked stone accents, a private pond, gardens, and terraces. There is a sports court on the property as well, but the recreational amenities are dominated by the massive pool area, which incorporates stone landscaping, and contains a pair of spas.

Emimen purchased the home when values were nearing their peak; the value of the property has never quite recovered from the 2008 market debacle. He appears in this year’s documentary ‘The Defiant Ones.’ The rap legend is the best-selling artist of the 2000s in the United States; he sold over 172 million albums over the course of his career.
