Vince Vaughn’s Hollywood Hills retreat has hit the market at $2.695 million. The actor purchased the gated property in 2014, for $2.38 million, and has offered it as a rental since.

The three-bedroom, 2.5-bath home dates squarely to the middle of the 1950’s. It measures a little less than 2,900 square feet, and contains three bedrooms and three baths.

The 1950’s suburban look shines through in the home’s exterior: nondescript. But the interiors have been renovated, and the open-concept design enhanced by the changes. The home’s toning is rendered in white and wood, with original oak floors finished in walnut, and exposed beams given a slightly lighter treatment by way of contrast.

The open living area’s brick has been whitewashed, offering even more reflected light from the oversized windows and French doors, and vaulted ceilings in whitewashed tongue-and-groove lend the space a pleasing sense of liberation.

The kitchen is casual, with built-in or niche storage, white subway tile, Corian countertops, two sinks, and stainless. The second-floor master features a sitting area, and a set of French doors opening onto a private terrace overlooking Runyon Canyon. The master bath features his-and-hers sinks, and a large soaking tub in tile. The master suite contains a walk-in closet.

The property exterior is peaceful and nicely landscaped, incorporating a pergola in the design. A lap pool, and a brick patio with an attached deck taking best advantage of the setting.

Vaughn appears in the upcoming ‘The Forgiven’; the film gave the actor a chance to work with director Roland Joffé, who helmed the 1986 classic ‘The Mission.’
