Television producers Michael Hissrich and Lauren Schmidt-Hissrich, who is also a scriptwriter, are marketing their house in the Hollywood Hills. The couple is asking $1.95 million for the property, a renovated Spanish Eclectic in the Lake Hollywood area.

The house dates to the 1920’s and, though it has seen many renovations, retains the charm of the period and style. The home’s exterior is stucco, with lantern sconces, and a soft aquamarine offering cool contrast against the terra cotta and wrought iron.

Inside the home, soft, fluid lines abound: stilted arches, subtly sculpted ceilings, colonial chandeliers, wrought iron, and wall niches are a few of the design flourishes, materials, or decorative features of the home. But renovations have added recessed lighting, modern ceiling design, and updated windows and doors to the mix.

Floors are original hardwood, including some narrow plank; there is some tile used, mosaic in the baths, and terra-cotta for the terrace and balconies. Light fixtures seem to represent a broad spectrum of eras, 1920’s to contemporary.

The house measures a little over 2,725 square feet, and contains four bedrooms and four baths. The kitchen has seen a somewhat recent renovation, and features slab marble countertops; it incorporates a casual dining area with window seating.

Michael Hissrich is a producer for the Showtime series ‘Shameless’; he took home two Emmy Awards for his work on ‘The West Wing.’

Lauren Schmidt-Hissrich also worked on ‘The West Wing,’ as a writer and editor. She is currently at work producing the Netflix miniseries ‘Marvel’s The Defenders.’
