Russian boxing champ Sergey Kovalev has put his Sherman Oaks house up for sale. The pugilist is asking $2.15 million for the property, a mid-century design dating to the early 1950’s. Kovalev purchased the home around two years ago, for $1.68 million.

The house measures about 2,150 square feet, and contains five bedrooms and 4.5 baths. It’s seen a pretty extensive renovation, and now features modern interiors, and a good amount of dark-finished hardwood. The common living area is open-concept, and the living room, dining room and kitchen are joined in a single progression.

The master suite features a master bath revision; a step-up soaking tub and glass shower, and a general beige treatment, now highlight the room. The remodel of the kitchen has left it in autumn tones, with granite, stove backsplash, and cabinetry rendered in brown tones; the effect is a little dark, but the stove backsplash is interesting.

The design features a good measure of glass, with picture windows and sliding doors allowing for a nice sense of continuation. The property’s exterior features a second floor balcony off the master suite, an enclosed pool area with an elevated spa, and a covered patio and outdoor living room attached to the structure.

Light heavyweight Kovalev held the WBO, WBA and IBF titles for three years, two years and two years, respectively. He will have a chance to reclaim his standing with his rematch against upstart Andre Ward, scheduled for next month.
