Matt Lucas—best known as a co-creator and co-star of ‘Little Britain’—is looking to part company with a nice little Spanish style estate in West Hollywood. The quick-witted Brit has set the asking price for the property at $5.35 million. Lucas purchased the home in 2011, for $2.9 million.

The Spanish-style compound dates to the 1920’s, and features green, shaded exterior living spaces, and a pleasantly easygoing layout that favors relaxation. The home is charmingly covered in vines, and features a tiled roof and period lantern light fixtures.

The house’s interiors have been extensively renovated. The interior living spaces measure about 2,300 square feet, with three bedrooms and three baths throughout.

The home’s turreted entrance is a terrific way to begin any interior adventure, giving the place a sense of history and scale right from the outset. The foyer, then, is rounded, with a domed ceiling and wall niches flanking the entrance to the music room. The living room, kitchen and day room, and dining room quickly follow in the progression.

Ceilings are vaulted or recessed, floors are narrow-plank hardwood, and lighting is a slightly uneasy alliance of modern, rather heavy-handed chandelier fixtures, and shaded deco-inspired wall sconces.

The home is bright and has a good sense of flow, with French doors opening to the deck, which looks out over a well-executed water feature, lagoon-style pool, and sandstone patio. There is a 1,200 square-foot two-story guesthouse on the property, with a second-floor terrace.

Lucas’ upcoming films are ‘How to Talk to Girls at Parties,’ and ‘A Futile and Stupid Gesture.’ Both are scheduled for wide release this year.
