After around ten months on the market, conductor Gustavo Dudamel has sold his home in Los Feliz. The guiding spirit of the L.A. Philharmonic accepted an offer of $2.849 million for the property, which had been listed at $3.095 million prior to the sale. The home had been initially listed last July, with an asking price of $3.3 million.

At 3,600 square feet, including three bedrooms and a master suite, the Spanish Revival-style house is comfortably expansive. It has been extensively and sensitively restored, with its original hardwood finished to an antique luster. The home’s desirable interior architecture includes several sets of French pocket doors, a staircase in polished oak, and narrow-plank walnut floors.

The foyer opens onto the three sets of pocket doors, and the staircase. The kitchen and dayroom are positioned in the back of the home; the dramatic tiling of the counter and stove backsplash, and the offset natural stone of the island and counter tops, continue the period feel of the home. It’s all tastefully executed, and never overplayed. Even the bathrooms are renovated with an eye to maintaining the beguiling idea of timelessness.

The lot isn’t large, but the property layout manages to incorporate an elevated patio, pool, and a strip of green into the backyard.
