For those who long to join Jules Verne as explorers under the sea, there’s a new vehicle to make your deep-water dreams come true: the new C-Researcher 2.
Built by Dutch maker U-Boat Worx, the C-Researcher 2 is a two-person submersible that has the ability to reach depths of 6,600 feet.
U-Boat Worx has been the go-to submersible builder for superyacht owners and deep ocean researchers for over a decade now. The newest edition of the Dutch brand’s C-Researcher series, the C-Researcher 2, is set to launch during the summer of 2018.
The C-Researcher 2 packs Pressure-Tolerant Lithium-ion battery technology and an automatic trim weight system. The propulsion system has been tested at depths of 13,000 feet, and stores a total of 62 kWh of power in compact battery modules. The efficiency of the battery design allows for extended mission time, and more power to boot for the underwater boat.
Thanks to the placement of the acrylic bubble-like command capsule, the C-Researcher 2 offers almost 360-degree views of the underwater world, offering adventurers a uniquely panoramic view of watery scenery.
