‘Murdered out’ cars and bikes are all the rage these days; the phrase for an all-black vehicle has become commonplace in the bike business, and you can’t swing a black cat without hitting one at shows. Naturally, Harley is leaping onto the marketing bandwagon.

The perfect example of this aesthetic, Harley-wise, is the 2017 Road King Special, which features the new Milwaukee-Eight engine that comes equipped on all new Harley touring bikes. Fans of heavy chrome shouldn’t be concerned, though, as the regular 2017 Road King will feature plenty of flash. Only the Road King Special will boast a standard all-black finish.

The 2017 Road King Special’s color scheme is called Vivid Black, although Charcoal Denim, Olive Gold, and Red Flake Hard Candy Custom will be available to those desiring a little less drama.

Harley-Davidson will charge $22,000 for the Road King Special, with the Charcoal Denim and Olive Gold colors adding $450 to the price, and the Red Candy Flake option adding $2,400 to the bottom line.
