Hermès has teamed up again with watch making giant Jean-Marc Wiederrecht. The collaboration has produced a follow-up to the duo’s sought-after Le Temps Suspendu, creating the new Slim d’Hermès L’Heure Impatiente watch.
Referred to as the Impatient Hour watch, the new Hermès timepiece is like a very luxurious alarm watch with a number of added features.
The wearer sets the time on the watch, and an hour before the scheduled chime sounds, the watch begins to countdown the minutes leading up to the big event.
Vaucher, a brand Hermès partially owns, created the super-thin caliber. To add the flair of whimsy Hermes is famous for, Wiederrecht crafted the tooth of the cam to look like a shark, with the fin activating the rack that indicates the hours. Said rack has been made to look like a Pegasus: tempus fugit.
The dial comes with printed Arabic numerals that award-winning French graphic designer Phillipe Apeloig designed especially for Hermès. The case is 18k rose gold, and the strap is hand-stitched blue alligator leather.
The Hermès Slim d’Hermès L’Heure Impatiente is offered at $39,900.
