Jeff Koons Teams up with Louis Vuitton on a Collection of Masterpiece-Printed Bags

French fashion brand Louis Vuitton has paired with art celebrity Jeff Koons. The result? The ‘Masters’ collection.

The new 51-piece line was unveiled at the Louvre after more than a year in the making. While LV has paired with other artists before, with more esoteric results, Koons is a pop artist interested in statements which are ideally “accessible to people.” He collaborated with H&M to develop a limited-edition purse that sold for around $50.

These new LVMH ‘Masters’ bags are certainly more expensive at $3,000 per handbag, but these unique creations are truly works of art themselves. Available in a variety of styles and shapes, the new handbags reference iconic pieces, with the names of each “Old Master” attached in bold metal letters. Several museums even provided the high-resolution images used to make the bags.

LV customers can expect to see bags featuring work from Leonardo da Vinci and Jean-Honoré Fragonard, to name a few. As a finishing touch, each handbag boasts a dangling leather bunny, which pays homage to Koons’ famed “Balloon Rabbit” creation.

Interested buyers will find pieces from the collection at select LV stores across the globe.
