Danish camera brand Phase One has teamed up with Sony to come out with a new 100-megapixel camera, the XF 100MP. It joins other ultra-cutting edge digitals in the 100-MP range made by Hasselblad and Phase One.

That’s right. 100 megapixels. With the right resolution, you can blow up an image until it’s visible from the International Space Station.

And the XF offers top-of-the-line image resolution, via a 100MP CMOS full-frame sensor. The camera is also able to provide 16-bit color, 15 f-stops of dynamic range, and an ISO range of 50 to 12,800. In addition, the Phase One XF can also live view capture footage via its HDMI output.

Other features of the camera include vibration tracking, vibration detection technology, an electronic first curtain shutter, and a “honeybee” auto-focus platform.

A unique feature of the camera is that it also includes the ability to allow for software upgrades and future innovative upgrades.

There is no pricing info for the Phase One XF 100MP, but it will be the range-topping model for the Danish brand so it surely won’t come cheap. The Hassy H6D-100 prices out in the low $30,000s.
