Indian Motorcycles’ Roadmaster Classic Is a Blast from America’s Motor Touring Past

The new Indian Roadmaster Classic screams Americana thanks to a vintage touring design style complete with plenty of chrome, ivory, genuine leather saddlebags, and fringe. And, then, it just screams, the way a Roadmaster should.

Of course, this doesn’t mean the iconic motorcycle company hasn’t included a few modern comforts for its new Roadmaster Classic model. It’s not all speed and nostalgic evocation. Features such as a power windshield, heated seats and grips, keyless start, and Indian’s Ride Command Infotainment system come included with the powerful touring model.

The Ride Command System is available on a 7-inch touchscreen display and is able to highlight and manage the ambient air temperature, display audio information, offer a vehicle trouble code readout, and access the navigation system, in addition to several other useful features. Slick? Sure. But that doesn’t mean you can’t listen to rockabilly on the 100-watt stereo. It does mean you can play it via a smartphone, though. And, all ride data from the System can be sent to a connected smart device via Bluetooth.

Powering the Roadmaster Classic is Indian’s 1,811cc TypeThunder Stroke 111 that produces 119.2 pound-feet of torque.

Now, that’s a touring bike.
