Prank Lands Drake’s $20M Hollywood Hills Estate on the Market

Drake’s three-acre estate in Hidden Hills surfaced on Zillow a few days ago at a hair under $20 million. Only it was the work of a prankster. An unsuspecting real estate agent sought to capitalize on the opportunity and contacted the listing, offering his services. The prankster posed as Drake’s business manager and happily contracted the agent. The listing only came down when the latter grew suspicious after being unable to schedule a photoshoot.

Drake purchased the home in 2012 for $7.7 million; it had been initially listed by the previous owner, in 2009, at $27 million.

It’s unlikely the Canadian-born rap star would be willing to let the property go; he betrayed his love of large residential swimming pools to Rolling Stone once. And, the lagoon-style pool is extraordinary. Very Hef, with the atmospheric, artificial grotto, and the statues of scantily-clad young women. The 80-foot water-slide is a bonus even Hef didn’t consider.

The main residence of the property measures 12,500 square feet, and contains six bedrooms and ten baths. A Tudor style with storybook elements, the home was constructed in 1974. Drake reportedly spent several years customizing the home to his own tastes, and had fallen in love with the property years before.

The interior is rustic, with exposed beams, carved accents, paneling, and coffered ceilings. The wine cellar and tasting room is dark, ornate, and medieval. The library is straight out of a 19th century country estate. Even the screening room is mannered. The games room features hand-stenciled vines on the ceiling—a nice touch. Overall, the style is a little overwrought, but interesting.

The property exterior features cobblestone drive, arched bridge, outdoor lounge and bar area with fireplace, stables, and tennis court.

The home is unfortunately not for sale it appears, but interested buyers could always try making Drake an offer he can’t refuse.

Since his debut album, 2010’s ‘Thank Me Later,’ Drake’s record sales have consistently gone at least platinum. Aside from his musical career, he is the ambassador for his hometown basketball team, the Toronto Raptors.
