If you’re house-hunting in the Boston area, and your budget is in the high eight figures, you may want to consider making a run to Brookline to check out Paul and Phyllis Fireman’s estate, Woodland Manor.

Rendered in limestone, and measuring 26,000 square feet, the estate rests serene and privately isolated on 14 acres in the village of Chestnut Hill, one of the more desirable suburbs of Boston, and home to Boston College. It was built over the course of just under two years, and completed in 2000.

The craftsmanship involved in the home’s creation is stunning. An incredibly imposing neoclassical façade, recalling both European and American design influences, is extended by a 5,000 square foot granite terrace. Designed to be entirely individual, the extensive details are all custom made and hand-built.

The exterior of the home is a major selling point; fourteen acres in the village of Chestnut Hill is a parcel of extraordinary size, and the manner in which the grounds have been rendered into a park-like estate, meandering across lawns, woods and gardens.

Woodland Manor was designed by Thoughtforms Corporation, of Acton, Mass. Thoughtforms is a design-build firm founded in 1972. The architect was Shope Wharton.

In the late seventies, Paul Fireman negotiated the U.S. distribution of Reebok as Reebok U.S.A, and guided the company into its present incarnation as a sportswear juggernaut. He sold the company to Adidas in 2006 for $3.8 billion. In 2009, he founded investment firm Fireman Capital Partners.

Woodland Manor is currently listed at $90 million.
