Jamie Luis Gomez, better known as Taboo, the rapper and DJ famous for his role in the Grammy-winning group The Black Eyed Peas, has recently listed his home complete with a recording studio in Altadena, California, for $2.175 million.

Built in 1940 and updated in 2007 by Franco Noravian, the Mediterranean Revival-style home features box-beam ceilings and stark white wainscoting to a classic interior appeal.

Taboo’s house holds five bedrooms and 5.75 bathrooms. The 4,555 square feet also boasts a contemporary kitchen with a breakfast nook, a two-floor family room, an office, a formal living room split by a two-way fireplace that adjoins to a dining room, and the aforementioned soundproof recording studio.

Outside there are patios and terrace balconies that open up to views of the lawns and mature trees on the almost half-acre plot. There is also a four-car garage on the property.

As part of The Black Eyed Peas with Fergie, will.i.am., and apl.de.ap, Taboo is one of the best-selling artists ever, with popular songs like “My Humps,” “I Gotta Feeling,” and “Where Is The Love” recognized around the world.

Taboo also recently divulged the story of his battle and victory against stage 2 testicular cancer. Since being told he was cancer free two years ago he and his wife, Jaymie Dizon, have had a child that they call their “miracle baby” after he was told their chances of conceiving were slim because of his aggressive treatment.

He’s currently teamed up with the American Cancer Society to help raise awareness about the disease.
