Otam shifted its gears from the its superfast GT models that range up to 80 feet to its first-ever foray into crafting a custom-made superyacht in its new SD35 range with the 115-foot Gipsy.
Designed by Tommaso Spadolini and built at Otam’s Genoa, Italy-based shipyard, the Gipsy looks bigger than its 115 feet thanks to a sleek-lined exterior with a high freeboard. This, combined with the super spacious exterior makes the superyacht look much bigger than other ships in its size range.
Internal staircases move passengers on the Gipsy across the main, upper, and sun decks with ease, the latter of which has been designed to accommodate for large parties and events with a Jacuzzi, large sun pads, and a centrally located bar area with a day head.
The layout of Otam’s first SD35 ship shows exactly what the Italian shipyard can do with its fully customizable line. For example, on the Gipsy the main deck is purely for dining and hanging out in luxury, and the area ahead of the main saloon serves as a dining room as opposed to the full beam master suite it normally would be on most yachts of this size.
The upper deck instead serves as the owner’s living spaces, appearing more like an apartment or loft—the perfect getaway from the rest of the passengers onboard. There are an additional four VIP cabins with twin and double beds and they all feature an en-suite bathroom.
The Gipsy boasts a top speed of 20 knots and a range of 2,000 nautical miles while cruising at 11 knots.
