When a special customer wanted a massive superyacht that could cross every bit of ocean the Earth has to offer, he didn’t turn to a luxury yacht maker. Instead, the owner of the new 350-foot Ulysses sought out the expertise of the Norwegian commercial liner builder Kleven to complete his dream.
Kleven teamed up with a variety of experts like naval architects Marin Teknikk, Oscar Mike for exterior styling, H2 Yacht Design for interiors, and technical managers Manta Maritime to complete the dream that is the Ulysses.
Since the Ulysses features a steel hull and superstructure there was no need for structural beams to cut into the interior spaces of the superyacht, giving the already seemingly oversized and spacious decks even more of an open feel.
The best example of this expansive feeling comes on the pool deck, which boasts a 40-foot pool, a family size hot tub, plenty of outdoor lounge space, and an interior that serves as a pool house with wrap-around windows for impeccable views of the Ulysses’ surroundings.
The Ulysses also comes with a helicopter landing pad large enough to land a Bell 429 or EC145 helicopter on, and after landing there is a hangar where the chopper can be stored with its rotors folded in a stow position. There are also refueling accommodations.
Inside the Ulysses, there are 15 total guest suites spread throughout three decks, with the owner’s suite designed more like a modern apartment that has its own office, lounge space, and private deck. There is also an indoor movie theater on the one-of-a-kind superyacht and all of the amenities needed to kill time during long voyages.
Last, but not least, the Ulysses comes with an enormous toy garage that includes everything from a fully-stocked dive center, surf boards, landing crafts, and ATVs, just to name a few.
The Ulysses is powered by six Caterpillar engines and boasts a top speed of just under 17 knots with a range of 8,500 nautical miles.
