Lamborghini Breaking Sales Records Left and Right

It’s been a year of firsts for Lamborghini. The first half of 2016 has been the Italian auto manufacturer’s best six-month sales period ever. According to company figures, 2,013 Lamborghinis have been sold since January, an increase of 7% over the last half of 2015. The company also announced a record-setting month in June, when the company delivered 416 cars.

To put the company’s blazing growth into perspective, consider that Lamborghini’s first year with over 2,000 units sold was 2014, the year they introduced the popular Huracán model. Since then, Huracán sales have contributed to most of the company’s success, accounting for 1,370 of the 2,013 cars sold so far this year.

“Thanks to the enlargement of the Huracán family, including introduction of the Spyder and rear-wheel drive version in markets worldwide in spring this year, we were able to deliver an exceptional sales performance in the first six months of 2016.” said the company’s CEO, Stefano Demonicali, pointing to the Huracán and V12 Aventador as the cornerstone of Lamborghini’s continued growth expectations.

“With a solid order bank, not only for the Huracán, but also for our V12 model the Aventador, we aim to outperform the last year’s sales record yet again.”

Long-term prospects are also good at the company, as the 2018 introduction of the Urus SUV is expected to propel sales again, with some insiders expecting annual sales of up to 3,000 units for the Urus alone.
