Hollywood producer Joel Silver, the man responsible for the “Matrix” and “Lethal Weapon” film franchises, was unsuccessful in shopping his Malibu estate off the market and now has listed the property on the open market for $57.5 million.

Silver’s five-bedroom, six-bathroom beach house sits on three-quarters of an acre along Carbon Beach with 137 feet of bulk-headed ocean frontage. In addition to the two-story, 5,859-square-foot main house there is a two-bedroom and two-bathroom guesthouse.

The parcel’s amenities include a walled-entrance courtyard, a fitness room, a chef’s kitchen, an enormous brick terrace, a tennis court, and a swimming pool.

Silver purchased the Carbon Beach pad from “Rocky” franchise producer Robert Chartoff in 2003 for $14.4 million, so he should be set to make a handsome profit.

The mega-producer also owns a 3.78-acre spread with a 22,308-square-foot manse just below The Getty in a glamorous section of Brentwood.  He also owns Auldbrass Plantation, a 325-plus acre estate in South Carolina, that boasts buildings designed and built by legendary architect Frank Lloyd Wright.
