The Mercedes-Benz C-Class has been known as the Benz lightweight in their lineup even when beefed up by AMG; however, at the upcoming 2016 Geneva Auto Show the new Mercedes-AMG C43 4Matic coupe will blow that perception out of the water.

The C43 is equipped with a twin-turbo V6 engine that puts out 367 horsepower and 384 pound-feet of torque that compares to some of the more powerful models in the C line. The new C43 can actually hit 60 mph from stop in 4.7 seconds, just 0.8 seconds slower than its much more powerful sibling, the 503-hp C63.

The 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission has been tweaked to lower the shift times and to create a Sport and Sport Plus mode with a double-declutching function to give drivers a short-shift feel. A pair of ignition settings, Eco and Comfort, can further alter driving the C43. The Individual mode lets the driver personalize various aspects to complete the many options owners have to customize their C43.

The exterior has been given the usual AMG treatment with special air intakes, silver chrome trim, and diamond meshes, to mention just a few of the changes. On the inside, the C43 is decked out with tons of Artico man-made leather and a sports-car themed instrument cluster.

The C43 will hit Mercedes dealerships in April with a price tag of around $65,500—almost $30,000 less than the larger C63.
