Doctor Mehmet Oz, better known as Dr. Oz, recently acquired the Louwana estate in Palm Beach, FL, in an off-market deal for $18 million.

Dr. Oz, a cardiothoracic surgeon turned television personality, has been the host of “The Dr. Oz Show” since 2009. The popular daytime talk show addresses medical topics and has earned him five Emmy awards. Dr. Oz courted controversy in the past by making dubious claims about “miracle” weight loss compounds and attracted the ire of prominent physicians, who claimed that his position as Vice Chair of the Department of Surgery at Columbia University was inappropriate considering he is “manifesting an egregious lack of integrity by promoting quack treatments and cures in the interest of personal financial gain” and that he has “flawed judgments about what constitutes appropriate medical treatments.” He remains very popular among his followers nevertheless.

Dr. Oz’s new mansion is next door to a mega-mansion Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump sold in 2008 to Russian billionaire and fertilizer magnate Dmitry Rybolovlev for $95 million.

Dr. Oz and his wife, Lisa, have their primary home in Cliffside Park, NJ, in a gated three-acre estate that includes a 9,153-square-foot Mediterranean villa and a two-story pool house with 4,122-square-feet.
