‘Scorpion House’ in Scottsdale on the Market for $5.5M

Architect Eddie Jones of the Jones Studio designed a unique house in the shape of a scorpion. The Scorpion House in Scottsdale, Ariz., was built in 2001 and designed to fit in with the area’s natural predator—the scorpion. Now, the one-of-a-kind home set in what looks like a desert arroyo is on the market for $5.5 million.

Curved concrete walls pair with oxidized titanium plates to form the serpentine home that features floor-to-ceiling glass walls and geometrically positioned limestone floors.

A hemispherical pool offsets the arid desert landscape and neutral color palette while appearing to float amid the desert brush.

Inside, 4,792 square feet offer plenty of space for four bedrooms and five bathrooms and vibrant red accents give life to the almost industrial interior aesthetic.

The incredible scorpion-inspired home neighbors the Tonto National Forest and is just 40 minutes outside of downtown Phoenix.
