The Pulse, created by Soundbrenner, is a wearable digital metronome designed so musicians can keep a beat regardless of the setting.

“Following the beat is fundamental to playing great music,” Florian Simmendinger, co-founder and CEO of Soundbrenner, said. “It’s difficult for beginners and even for the most accomplished musicians who are aiming to achieve perfection. When you wear the Soundbrenner Pulse against your skin, you can literally feel and internalize the beat you want to follow, and it becomes the most natural feeling in the world.”

The Pulse’s tempo and beat is set by simply tapping on the device’s sensor. The Pulse then uses vibrations and a flashing LED light to set the beat. The device can also be controlled using an app for iOS or Android and built-in Bluetooth technology.

The Pulse is designed for a single musician, though several can be synced so the whole band (up to 10 people) can play at the same temp and beat.

The Pulse is powered by a battery that has 4-5 hours of life before needing to recharge.

The Soundbrenner Pulse is still raising funds on Indiegogo. Those who contribute $129 will receive a Pulse. The device is expected to retail for $149. The company hopes to begin shipping the Pulse in November.
