Brooklyn’s Most Expensive Home, Bought in 1991 for $2.3M, Listed for $40M

The renowned Low Mansion in Brooklyn has hit the market with a $40 million asking price.

“The (Low Mansion) is a remarkable statement of grace, beauty, refinement, proportion, and privilege,” the home’s listing says.

The Mansion was originally designed as a single-family home back in mid-1800s, but after some remodeling the 17,000-square-foot home now has 15 bedrooms and16 bathrooms. In addition to the space inside, there is an additional 9,000-square-feet of outdoor space, including a garden.

The Low Mansion was originally built in the 1800s for Abiel Abbot Low, a man who made his fortune doing business in China.

Jeff Keil, a retired banker, currently owns the home. He bought the mansion in 1991 for $2.3 million.
