Using technology developed by NASA, the Orbital System shower saves on water and, consequently, your water bill. It cuts down water consumption by 80 to 90 percent.

The Orbital System was designed by a person who previously worked on NASA’s Mars mission project. Taking a shower on a trip to Mars meant limited water, therefore the water would need to be recycled and reused.

“We’ve transferred the technology from space to Earth,” Mehrdad Mahdjoubi, CEO and co-founder of Orbital Systems, said.

The water you use is not lost once it goes down the drain like with current plumbing systems. Instead this system purifies the water until it is pure enough to be drinkable and reuses it.

The Orbital Systems shower not only cuts down on water consumption but also saves on energy as the Orbital System shower has its own heating system to keep water warm.

You can also keep up with just how much water and energy you are saving utilizing an iOS and Android compatible app.

It is available for pre-order now. Depending on the model, the Orbital Systems shower costs $3,629 to $4,537.
