The curved-screen UHD-TVs by LG are the pinnacle of next-generation television sets. They feature unprecedented tech specs and crystal-clear images. These televisions just got a little more luxurious, though. LG has teamed up with Swarovski to put crystals on their Curved OLED television to match the TV’s crystal-clear picture.

“We are excited to showcase this one-of-a kind TV — our first collaboration with designers from Swarovski — to visitors at IFA,” said Hyun-hwoi Ha, president and CEO of LG’s Home Entertainment Company. “The epitome of luxury and refinement, Swarovski crystals and LG’s premium OLED TV complement each other perfectly. The crystals help to create an aesthetic that is, quite simply, gorgeous, while our OLED technology ensures a level of picture quality that is every bit as stunning as one could imagine.”

Around 460 luminescent Aurora Borealis crystals are placed, by hand, on the television’s stand. The crystals do not add anything to the overall pictured quality of the television, but they do add some aesthetic beauty to the already pretty set. Whether or not it makes sense to stick crystals on a television is up to those who want to purchase one.

The crystal encrusted Curved OLED TV will be a limited edition and will be shown off at the 2014 IFA.
