IWC has released two timepieces to commemorate the 70th birthday of French writer and pioneering aviator Antoine de Saint-Exupery novel Le Petit Prince (The Little Prince). The two watches, the Pilot’s Watch Mark XVII Edition “Le Petit Prince” and the Big Pilot’s Watch Perpetual Calender Edition “Le Petit Prince,” are each unique.
The Pilot’s Watch Mark XVII Edition features a soft iron inner case for protection against magnetic fields, and the glass is protected against drops in air pressure. It features a little prince engraving on the case back. It is limited to 1,000 pieces and costs just over $5,000.
The Big Pilots Watch Perpetual Calender Edition features an 18k gold medallion with the engraving of the little prince. It also features a 7-day power reserve and displays the date, day, month, and year in four digits as well as the moon phase. It is limited to 270 pieces and costs around $61,250.
