Drones have hit a new wave of popularity, and now there is an autonomous flying camera for social media savvy owners: the Hover.

The Hover is made out of carbon fiber to help make it ultra light, which is important because weighing in at roughly half a pound (8.5 ounces) it doesn’t have to be registered with the Federal Aviation Administration. Being so light also helps make it easy to store in a backpack or haul around in the carrying case.

The Hover isn’t equipped with a tracking sensor or GPS, so it isn’t meant to handle high-altitude aerial shooting or for traveling far distances. In fact, it’s made just to serve as its owner’s personal selfie camera drone. The Hover uses face detection and other vision recognition technologies in conjunction with sonar to track its owner at a safe distance.

Built around a 2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset, the Hover comes with a camera that can shoot 13-megapixel pictures and 4K video at 30 frames per second and comes with electronic image stabilization for the best possible picture quality.

The Hover is the first-ever product from Zero Zero Robotics, which raised $25 million in private funding to help get the Hover off the ground. Though there isn’t a release date for the Hover yet, it is believed to cost around $600.
