Mercedes-Benz is set to introduce the GLE-Class SUV at the New York Motor Show. The vehicle is replacing the near-20-year-old M-Class.

The GLE will be Mercedes’ first plug-in hybrid SUV. The V6 gasoline engine will churn out 329 HP, while the electric motor will add an additional 114 HP, totaling 436 ponies all together. The GLE will also be all-wheel drive with a seven-speed automatic transmission.

Taking design cues from the GLE Coupe that Mercedes-Benz debuted earlier in the year, the GLE-Class SUV has sharper headlights, a revamped bumper and grille, and a hood that looks like it was lifted off a muscle car.

Inside, the vehicle sports Mercedes’ COMAND infotainment system. It also has a redesigned, three-spoke steering wheel. The interior has three color options: porcelain, espresso brown, and ginger beige.

The Mercedes-Benz GLE is slated to go on sale sometime in the next few months. Pricing details are not yet available.
